Clash without crash - bruno catalano

Lunedì 30 giugno, dalle 14:00 alle 18:00, Bruno Catalano ci trasporterà nel suo workshop CLASH WITHOUT CRASH, un workshop durante il quale i partecipanti sono invitati a esplorare tecniche di partnering, come l’appoggiarsi al corpo dell’altro e la capacità di controbilanciare il peso. Sperimenteranno come sostenere e utilizzare il peso di un corpo in movimento, sollevare un partner con il minimo sforzo e rendersi leggeri mentre vengono sollevati, sia in situazioni statiche che in condizioni di disequilibrio. Giocheranno con diverse modalità di dare e ricevere peso attraverso azioni come appoggiarsi, arrampicarsi e saltare sul partner. I partecipanti impareranno anche a saltare l’uno sull’altro, così come ad accogliere e assorbire l’impatto di un corpo in salto, senza interrompere il flusso del movimento. Utilizzando sequenze dinamiche di partnering, i partecipanti si manipoleranno reciprocamente in modi diversi, muovendosi nello spazio. Bruno Catalano è performer, coreografo, insegnante di danza e direttore artistico di PiccoliProduction, compagnia di danza contemporanea con sede a Zurigo. Si è diplomato all’ArtEZ University of the Arts nel 2003 e, dal 2010 al 2018, ha curato le coreografie per il gruppo teatrale giovanile AG Theater Rämibühl di Zurigo. Ha inoltre collaborato a due produzioni liriche dell’Opernverein Zürich e ha creato una coreografia per la compagnia teatrale inclusiva Hora. Da oltre 15 anni, PiccoliProduction contribuisce attivamente alla scena culturale zurighese, portando i propri lavori in spazi come Gessnerallee, Rote Fabrik, Tanzhaus Zürich, Helmhaus e Kunstraum Walcheturm. Negli ultimi anni, la compagnia ha esteso la propria attività anche a livello internazionale, con progetti realizzati in Argentina e India. Nel 2024–2025, Bruno ha partecipato come performer alla retrospettiva di Marina Abramović presso il Kunsthaus Zurich. Parallelamente alla sua attività artistica, insegna da molti anni in Svizzera e all’estero, tenendo corsi e workshop in istituzioni e accademie come HF Bühnentanz, Tanzhaus Zürich, Espacio LEM (Buenos Aires), École des Sables (Senegal), ArtEZ (Paesi Bassi), SEAD (Austria), Iwanson International School of Contemporary Dance (Germania), Danscentrumjette (Belgio), Iceland University of the Arts (Reykjavik) e la Danish National School of Performing Arts (Danimarca). (english) June 30th, Monday, at 14:00 til' 18:00, professional dance workshop di Bruno Catalano. CLASH without CRASH is a workshop during which participants are invited to explore partnering skills such as leaning against a body and the ability to counterbalance the weight. They will experience how to support and use the weight of a body in motion, lift partners using minimal effort and make themselves light while being lifted in static and off-balance situations. They will play with different ways of giving and receiving weight in the action of leaning, climbing and jumping onto a partner. Participants will also learn to jump onto each other as well as to catch and absorb the impact of a jumping body without breaking the flow of the movement. Using dynamic partnering sequences, they will manipulate each other in different ways moving in space. Bruno Catalano is a performer, choreographer, dance teacher and the artistic director of the Zürich-based company PiccoliProduction. He graduated from ArtEZ University of the Arts in 2003 and choreographed for the youth theater group AG Theater Rämibühl in Zurich from 2010-2018. He also collaborated on two operas produced by the Opernverein Zürich and created a piece for the Zurich theatre company Hora. PiccoliProduction has actively contributed to the cultural life of the city of Zürich for the last 15 years, presenting work in Gessnerallee, Rote Fabrik, Tanzhaus Zürich, Helmhaus, Kunstraum Walcheturm among others. In recent years, the company has also produced in an international context such as in Argentina and India. In 2024-2025, Bruno worked as a performing artist in Marina Abramovic’s retrospective at Kunsthaus Zurich. He has been teaching for many years in Switzerland and abroad in academies and dance institutions such as HF Bühnentanz, Tanzhaus Zürich, Espacio LEM (Buenos Aires), Ecole des Sables (Senegal), ArtEZ (The Netherlands), SEAD (Austria), Iwanson International School of Contemporary Dance (Germany), Danscentrumjette (Belgium), Iceland University of the Arts Reykjavik (Island), DDDSK Danish National School of Performing Arts (Denmark).
